Originally from near Philadelphia, Laura Dunne studied at Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia. She now work out of her studio in Ireland where inspiration is drawn from the ever changing yet always beautiful Irish landscape as seen in the colours and emotive atmosphere of ‘Bog Secrets’.
Artist Statement:
My world pivoted with 9/11 and my father being diagnosed with a terminal illness. I broke from the art world to study Equine Science, needing more stability and an escape from the urban environment. These years working with horses nourished my connection with nature which very much influences my work today.
I moved to Ireland and found a world full of inspiration that created a safe space for me to return to art. My work reflects the beauty and emotion of the landscape and people that brought me back to life, as seen in the colors and emotive atmosphere of ‘Bog Secrets’.
Nature can represent and inspire every emotion within us. The objective of my work is to convey this atmospheric emotion and create a connection with the viewer.
