Part I
Time: 11.00am -12:40pm
In Part I, we will discuss how creativity supports our wellbeing and mental health. We will:
- Explore what the term “creativity” means and the wide range of creative activities available.
- Gain an understanding of the important role creativity has in enhancing our sense of wellbeing and improving our mental health.
- Identify the potential barriers to creativity and explore ways in which we can build in creativity to our daily lives.
- Start a creativity planner to help us get started, whether it’s learning something new or revisiting an old hobby.
12.40pm to 1.00pm – Break (Complimentary tea/coffee will be provided. Please feel free to bring a sandwich)
Part II: Hands-on Creativity
Time: 1.00pm – 2.15pm
Weave a textile wall hanging inspired by Roderic O Conor’s Red Firs painting from the Hunt Museum Collection. Take time out to admire his bold and rich use of colour to masterfully capture this South of France landscape . Then choose your textiles and get weaving.
This session will be facilitated by local artist, Evelyn Kelly. No experience needed. All materials will be supplied.
