Gesture & Movement Through Brushwork and Paint - The Hunt Museum

Admission: €95 per person or €75 for Friends of the Hunt Museum Members

Join award-winning Irish artist Gabhann Dunne for a one-day painting workshop exploring movement and gesture through expressive brushwork. Using examples from his work including studies of a bird in flight and a wolf in motion, participants will learn how to convey energy and rhythm through paint. Working in acrylic or oil the workshop covers gesture-led painting, colour mixing, mediums and wet-on-wet techniques.
Participants are encouraged to bring in an image dealing with that movement and gesture though we will have images available as well.

All levels welcome.

What you will need to bring with you:

  • Paints oil or acrylic
  • At least two Canvas, board or treated paper not larger than 30x40cm
  • Palette
  • Brushes (one at least as wide as your thumb )
  • Container for solvent/water
  • Old rag to clean paint with

Tea/Coffee and Biscuits will be available.
Lunch not included.
