John Hanamy will speak about the artist Sean Keating and his place as a modern Irish artist and his contribution to the artistic life of Limerick city. He will be giving a little background to the ‘Shannon Scheme’ at Ardnacrusha and the building of the power plant, including its significance to the newly independent state. He will be interpreting the painting and what Keating may have have been trying to convey through allegory in his work.
This is a free event, all are welcome.
