The Hunt Museum was pleased to welcome Minister for Culture and Tourism, Patrick Donovan, to the museum in Limerick on Friday, 16 January 2026. During his visit, the Minister met with Teresa Crowley, Director and CEO of the Hunt Museum, Aileen Galvin, Chairperson of the Board, and Helen O’Donnell, Board Member, alongside members of the Hunt Museum team and its dedicated docents.
The visit provided an opportunity to discuss the museum’s work, its nationally and internationally significant collection, and the important role the Hunt Museum plays in Limerick’s cultural and tourism landscape. The museum was delighted to host the Minister and to highlight the commitment of staff and volunteers in delivering cultural engagement and learning for diverse audiences.

The Hunt Museum exhibits one of Ireland’s greatest private collections of Art and Antiquities, dating from the Neolithic Period to the 20th century. Collected by the dedicated antiquarians Gertrude and John Hunt, this remarkable collection comprises more than 2,500 diverse objects. The museum serves as a cultural hub, featuring a wide range of historical objects, jewellery, decorative arts and works by renowned artists such as Pablo Picasso and Jack. B Yeats.
