Includes photocopy of object description sheet (date unspecified) including sketch of object. Photocopy of photograph of object on verso; transcription of text of label which described object in foundation building display (c. 1996); photocopy of extract from the 'Journal of the Cork Historical and Archaeological Society' (volume x, second series, 1904) which comprises article by Robert Day entitled 'The Archer-Butler Murrain Stone'; photocopy of extract from same journal (volume xii, second series, 1906) comprising brief note about object described as a 'Kerry amulet' which 'is or was something of the same peculiar class of stone... as the Archer Butler Murrain Stone'; photocopy of extract from 'The Journal of the Royal Historical and Archaeological Association of Ireland' (volume 5, part 1, 1879) which contains image and description of present object; photocopy of extract from 'A Concise History of World Sculpture' (London: David & Charles, 1981) by Germain Bazin. Contains image of a reliquary statue of Saint Foy held by the Church of Saint Foy, Conques. Image shows what appear to be amulets similar to the present object as part of the statue of Saint Foy; letter (30 July 2001) from Patrick Fitzgerald, Carrick-on-Suir Heritage Centre, Main Street, Carrick-on-Suir, county Tipperary, to Fiona Davern, Registrar, Hunt Museum, in relation to an application to borrow the present object. This institution appears to have other objects which pertain to the Butler family.
