The top of the bodice and around the hips is decorated with crochet semi-circles. There is ribbon tied with a bow both just below the waist and some inches from the hem of the skirt. On the back of the photograph is a handwritten annotation in pencil "Sybil Connolly c/o Daniel Prod[uctions]" and a telephone number. Daniel Productions were located in Rathgar, Dublin. This photograph is printed in Irish Tatler & Sketch, September 1955, page 31, where the dress is described as a "beige Irish hand crochet lace short evening gown".
