Using 3D Scans in Projects: 21-23 May 2022. We were joined again by a team of volunteers and our friends Jon and Elisa from Scan the World for a weekend of laser scanning and photogrammetry. This time we created 3D models as part several important projects.
We scanned more medieval objects for The Art of Reading in the Middle Ages project with Europeana including a 16th century lectern, a beautiful Maiolica pharmacy jar and a large wooden candlestick.
It was exciting to spend one day creating a scan of The Tree of Life by Tiburcio Soteno, an artist from Mexico. This is part of The Permanent Collection of the Limerick City Gallery of Art and will be part of our joint-education project The Three Muses alongside objects from the Hunt Museum and Limerick Museum.
