2020 – Mapping the Collection

2020 – Mapping the Collection: The Annual Hunt Museum + LIT Limerick School of Art & Design 2nd Year Students’ Exhibition 2021.

Five distinct artworks in a grid: a sepia landscape with trees, a stone wall in a field, a vase with logo patterns, a figure holding a glowing orb, and abstract faces on coloured panels.

MAPPING THE COLLECTION is the 2nd year painting students from Limerick School of Art & Design, response to the permanent collection of the Hunt Museum. This is an annual exhibition that took place online in 2020, with four artists being posted each day, alongside the artefacts they are responding to in the order that they would have been seen in the museum.

Five distinct artworks in a grid: a sepia landscape with trees, a stone wall in a field, a vase with logo patterns, a figure holding a glowing orb, and abstract faces on coloured panels.
Collage featuring people on a red-carpeted staircase, abstract paintings with geometric patterns, and mannequin figures blending into surreal backgrounds.
A collage of six abstract artworks. Top left, a detailed house exterior; middle, a triptych with urban scenes in blue tones; right, a grid of small portraits. Bottom left, a figure in front of a house; centre, a green-clothed figure against blue; right, a face with a spiral pattern. Tone is eclectic and thought-provoking.
