Eleanor Chapman
Eleanor Chapman, after growing up in the seaside town of St. Anne’s, Lancashire in the UK, attended the Junior Royal Northern College of Music from the age of 16 and was awarded the Vicci Wardman Viola Prize. At this time she was helping to coach younger string ensembles in her area and followed this with further work in youth music engagement during her time studying viola at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, where she studied with Louise Lansdowne and Robin Ireland.
A founding member of the Dunev String Quartet and the Gaia Ensemble, her interest in chamber music has lead to recording debut albums in 2019/20, and a UK quartet tour exploring the music of Beethoven, Grieg and Webern. To further her studies Eleanor came to Limerick in late 2020 to take part in a Masters programme with the Irish Chamber Orchestra. She has since been working as a tutor with their education sector and performing freelance with various Irish ensembles.
