William Scott CBE, RA, Still Life - Four Cups, Oliver Sears Gallery
Running in tandem with, Our, Óir, Ore: Four Millennia of Silver and Gold, both exhibitions offer a rich and nuanced exploration of artistry, craftsmanship, and storytelling across time.
These intimate juxtapositions animate the collection in unexpected ways, encouraging visitors to reconsider familiar objects through fresh artistic lenses and to reflect on how meaning evolves over time.
Focusing on the ‘Our’ element of the Hunt Collection, OUR: Conversations with the Collection uses the concept of Twin Souls a curatorial approach that brings historical objects and contemporary artworks into close dialogue, pairing them to reveal shared themes, ideas, or emotional resonances.
Through a series of vignette-style displays, the artworks breathe new life into selected objects from the Hunt Collection, inviting visitors to reimagine the familiar through fresh and unexpected perspectives. Inspired by Trove (Dorothy Cross and the National Museum of Ireland, 2015), the exhibition encourages audiences to reflect on what can emerge when past and present are brought into conversation.
Discover a bold new way of seeing the Hunt Collection, where history and contemporary creativity meet.
