Dan Kenny is an artist and teacher and has been making and exhibiting work longer than he cares to remember. Kenny has been a member of Limerick printmakers almost from its inception, and has exhibited in many LP shows. He tends to work initially from a photographic start point, often pinhole or other film based image. Kenny then processes the work through a screen printing process. He has worked with these processes for many years but also works with etching, drypoint and lino/ woodcut. This image is part of a series Kenny has been working on for a while now, attempting to explore the nature of memory perception, and the shifting sands of time. All memory is by nature subjective, and exists only in the context of the individual. Therefore can the notions of collective or cultural memory ever be reliable? These are some of the questions and concerns Kenny is exploring through my work.
